Shared Services [Event Ref. No. TG5/SHAR]
Libraries face continuing challenges to improve services on an ever decreasing budget. Sharing services is one way of making the most effective use of the resources at our disposal. Three different institutions talk about their experiences, from sharing electronic resources and space, to sharing practices and experiences.

10.00-10.45: Frank Steiner (Marketing Manager, University of London Computer Centre) and Sarah Sherman (BLE Service Manager) – talking about the BLE (Bloomsbury Learning Environment). The BLE is made up of a number of shared electronic resources including a learning platform. It is hosted by the ULCC
10.45-11.30: Judith Keene (Assistant Director, Information and Learning Services, University of Worcester) – talking about the HIVE – a joint project with the local county council to provide a library and history centre
11.30-11.45: Coffee
11.45-12.30: Jeremy Upton (Deputy Director of Library Services, St Andrews University) – talking about SHEDL (Scottish Higher Education Digital Library)
12.30-1.00: Panel discussion/Q & A.
The event will be taking place in the Burnside Room at London Mathematical Society, De Morgan House, 57-58 Russell Square, London WC1B 4HS.

Cost: £45 for cpd25 members and £65 for other institutions.
Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, the full fee will be charged.
