Space Planning [Event Ref. No. TG3/SPLAN]
Making the best use of available space has always been an issue of concern for libraries, but in an increasingly digital world where users come with enhanced expectations and funding remains tight, getting the space right is perhaps more important than ever.
How do libraries and librarians go about planning, refurbishing and using their physical space to ensure they can continue to deliver innovative and relevant services to their users?
This day event draws together a number of speakers from a mix of institutions, each with first-hand experience of planning, negotiating and delivering very different library spaces to meet the needs of their users.
During the day there will also be the opportunity for participants to discuss issues and concerns around space planning with colleagues, and to see first-hand what has been achieved in the newly refurbished library space at Goldsmiths.
