Miggie Pickton and Nick Dimmock (University of Northampton) will talk about collaboration between the Library, the Graduate School and the Research & Strategic Bidding Office. They will discuss their latest collaboration, the Research Support Hub, as well as other areas in which they work together, such as researcher training, research reporting and the REF submission
2.00-2.35 Web 2.0
Jenny Evans (Imperial College London) will talk about the web 2.0 programme Imperial has developed for researchers, titled Blogs, Twitter, wikis and other web-based tools: collaborating and building your online presence
2.35-3.10 Discussion groups
We will break off into groups to allow participants to meet colleagues with an interest in supporting researchers, and to discuss various issues facing us, such as the effects on libraries of recent developments in open access, best practice in offering support to researchers and any other topics of interest

3.45-4.20 The perspective of a recent research student
Dr Tahani Nadim recently completed her PhD in sociology at Goldsmith’s, University of London. For the past 3 years, she has also worked for Goldsmiths Library, building and managing their institutional repository and expanding the Library’s research portfolio. She will briefly talk about the correspondences and differences of these two experiences before inviting participants to discuss how best to apply the Library’s expertise and resources to support research and actively participate in the university’s research culture.
