Libraries have a crucial role to play in supporting research. The emergence of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) and the demands to make research and research data open and accessible have further emphasised the importance of the library’s role in this area.
Research support is a large and complex area, particularly for those in institutions seeking to newly establish a research service within their library teams. For those with established research services, the environment is constantly changing creating new challenges and opportunities for library services.
This event will cover the key areas of focus for a research services team, including establishing a library research support team, how the library contributes to researcher development, writing Open Access and Research Data policies and developing a library research support strategy.
The event is aimed at those seeking to establish a research support team as well as those already working in research support, or where research support is a key element of their role.
