The Barbican Library is the largest of the three lending libraries in the City of London authority and one of the busiest in Central London. It has undergone a sizeable capital investment scheme for new service counters and a stock management and security system in the last 2.5 years. The Music Library has the largest collections of CDs for loan in public libraries in London, it houses the Gilbert and Sullivan Society collection; it also provides listening facilities and a practice piano.
