This visit will allow you to see the building and a few of the reading rooms at the British Library. You will hear from Louise Doolan, head of Reference Services, Aquiles Brayner from the Digital Curator team and speak to Steven Dryden, a reference librarian about the work that the Sound and Vision team is doing.

Programme:

1.20:  Meet in the main hall

1.30-2.40:  Discover more about the British Library’s history, collections and architecture on a tour of the public areas of the Library

Learn more about the Library’s history

2.40-3.00: Tea Break

3.00-3.30: Welcome and Introduction from Louise Doolan who is the head of Reference Services

 

3.30-4.00: Outline of the digital curation projects – Dr Aquiles Alencar-Braner

Joining Instructions:

Please meet at the information desk in the main hall – you will need to put your coats and bags in the cloakroom and then you will be given a visitor pass and escorted to the meeting room.

This visit is free of charge.
