Visit to Wormwood Scrubs Prison Library [ref. TG2v/WORM1]
An opportunity to visit a busy prison library in West London.
The Library at HMP Wormwood Scrubs provides a library and information service to over 1,250 prisoners and all grades of staff. The Librarian will give us a tour of the Library.
This general visit will provide information on:
- Access for prisoners
- Book stock
- Legal information, budgets & procedures
- The effect of the prison regime on the library service
- General running of the library – day-to-day operation, security implications etc.
This visit is free of charge. Bookings for visits are open to members of the M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries only.
Visitors will need photo ID (passport or driver’s licence) and will need to leave their mobile phones at the entrance as there are no staff lockers.
If, subsequent to booking a place on a cpd25 visit, you find that you are unable to attend, we ask that you let us know this as soon as possible. Cancellations received less than three working days before the event will be charged a £15 cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, £25 will be charged.
