Staying Positive in Trying Times: Looking After Yourself [TG4/Positive]

If you were in a great mood, you would treat all customers marvellously. However it’s hard to stay
positive after difficult encounters. Also, times like that take their toll on your general wellbeing. In this seminar we look at how to stay as positive as possible during the encounter, immediately after
and long-term. Participants share and gain practical strategies, and an opportunity to practice these.

Programme:

  • Intros: problems in practice
  • Group work: During/After/Long after
  • Debrief: staying positive
  • Chat: long-term positivity/wellbeing
  • Exercise: somatic stress relief

We start by introducing real life problems and issues the participants have with challenging situations. We then look at three situations; during the encounter, immediately afterwards and in the long
term, and discuss strategies for staying positive under pressure.

These are debriefed and added to until everyone has the complete toolbox of methods. We then go on to look at methods for ‘not taking it personally’ and ‘not taking it home’, and end with a somatic exercise for long-term stress relief which is also made available on MP3.

What you’ll need: No advance preparation needed, and you don’t need to take notes as a writeup will be provided after the event.

About the trainer:

Ash Charlton has delivered very successful and enjoyable HR and diversity-related courses and facilitated sessions for over 20 years.   • This session is virtual and will run via Zoom. Once your booking has been confirmed, joining instructions will be emailed the day before the event.

£25 members
£50 for other institutions.

Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, the full fee will be charged.
