Career Development Day For Library And Information Assistants [Event Ref. No. TG1/CDD]
This day is aimed at those who are looking to progress their career, or perhaps change direction and in particular the focus will be on transferable skills.
Information professionals will talk about their own experiences working in different sectors and how this has helped them in their current roles, how to find ‘alternative’ careers and how they are using opportunities in the sector, social media is one example, to challenge themselves and develop their careers further.
There will also be a session on how you can identify your transferable skills to search for the right job, how to create a CV/application form and to sell yourself at an interview.
