* Please note that this workshop complements the workshop on Feedback and Difficult Conversation which is being held on 20th April 2012 *

When you are facing significant challenges, particularly in today’s economic climate, whether it be squeezed rising costs, re-structuring or developing a significant project, inevitably staff are nervous and there will be some resistance to change. Change management skills are important to the survival and success of any organisation.

More importantly, good work practices involve planning and managing change effectively. This in turn helps organisations to lessen the impact and take best advantage of the opportunities that change offers. Handling change effectively can make your library stronger and more resilient.

This workshop will be facilitated by Ash Charlton from Acenterprise. He will explore why change management skills are so important, how to improve them and will provide a practical toolkit of techniques for managers and supervisors to take back to the work place.

This full-day workshop is for library supervisors and managers, and attendees should go away confident in their abilities to help library staff cope with change, make the most of change, and manage the whole process effectively in their own libraries.
