The demographics of UK students have significantly changed in the last decade, especially in terms of students from disadvantaged backgrounds where numbers have increased by 42%. Universities have increased their efforts in widening participation, removing barriers that would traditionally have deterred some prospective students.

In this event, we discover who today’s students are and how this changed over recent years. We will discover which groups are under-represented and what needs to be done to make universities more inclusive. We will also find out about good practice taking place across the Higher Education sector, with some inspirational stories of widening participation.
