Event Type

LMN and RSC for London Workshop
Dealing with Network Abuse
7th December 2004
2pm to 4.30pm

This short workshop aims to share good practice and experience in dealing with incidents of abuse that may arise during the day to day running of an institutional network. The workshop is complementary to the JANET-CERT Security Conference, 14th December 2004.

Are you increasingly reacting to potentially unauthorised access to your network resources, or deal with users who attempt to mis-use them? What do you do when somebody requests an investigation into a suspected abuse? Network managers have to find a balance between planning for the worst and working for the best. Find out how others have approached this to assess and possibly improve your current practice.

Audience:

Technical and managerial staff with responsibility for running network services and dealing with abuse.
