Focus Group on Developing a Bespoke Library Excellence Framework
There has been a growing use of commercial customer‑service assessments in academic libraries over the past decade, offering a way to enhance the student experience with a consistent, external review of services and staff development, and providing successful universities with a charter mark to show their achievement. Yet, with many institutions under pressure to cut costs, developing an in-house, bespoke library excellence standard might be more efficient.
Recognising that many M25 member libraries are navigating pressures to improve efficiency and reduce costs and funded by the M25 Consortium Innovation Fund, the University of Bedfordshire is developing resources that will benefit the M25 Consortium community. These will include:
- a template Library Excellence Framework
- template training slides
- template communications
All resources will be released under a Creative Commons licence for local adaptation.
This Focus Group event provides the M25 Consortium community with the opportunity to contribute to developing a relevant and workable Framework.
Attend the Focus Group
We invite colleagues from across M25 Consortium member libraries to join an online focus group to discuss the Framework, give feedback and comment, and participate in co‑creation. This collaborative approach will support the continued evolution of the resource and the sharing of good practice. We welcome participants from all library backgrounds.
Session details:
- Purpose: To gather insights that will shape the development of the framework.
- Format: 45 minute online focus group
