We are pleased to offer a cpd25 seminar on Information Literacy for the Google generation. Three speakers have been invited to describe their experiences in this area and to take your questions. The audience are also invited to share their views at a panel discussion at the end of the afternoon.

Topic being addressed will include:

• Promoting information literacy
• Delivering information literacy
• Engaging the Google generation
• Online Virtual Information Assistant (Olivia)

Speakers:

Debbi Boden (Chair)
Faculty Team Leader at Imperial College London

Debbi Boden is a Faculty Team Leader at Imperial College London. Debbi is chair of the Literary Information Literacy Group and lead on the project to create the College’s Online Information Literacy Programme, Olivia. She is also Chair and founder of the CILIP CSG Information Literacy Group whose aim is to promote information literacy across all sectors.

Peter Godwin
Academic Services Manager, in Learning & Information Services at London South Bank University

Peter Godwin is Academic Services Manager, in Learning & Information Services at London South Bank University. Peter has been a member of the SCONUL ACIL (Advisory Committee for Information Literacy) and is now a member of the new Working Group on Information Literacy.

Katharine Reedy
Learning & Teaching Librarian, Open University Library

Katharine Reedy is a Learning & Teaching Librarian at the Open University Library. Her responsibilities include supporting distance learners and staff in their use of the digital library, and working with academic course teams to integrate online resources and information literacy into the curriculum.
