This event will be of interest to library staff from HEIs who have, or are developing relationships with overseas institutions.

The objective is to raise awareness of the e-licensing issues, pitfalls and limitations, that library staff must look out for when planning or resourcing courses for overseas campuses and collaborative partners, to ensure that HEI’s do not fall foul of copyright law and applicable licensing agreements.

Programme: 2.00 – 2.30  – Arrival and registration

2.30 – 2.35 – Welcome and introduction

2.35 – 3.05 – Kate Vasili – “Distance learners, collaborative partners and overseas campuses: what’s the difference and what can you do under licence? The Middlesex experience”

3.05 – 3.25 – Tea and coffee

3.25 – 3.55 – Ruth Dale – “Information at a distance: setting up e-resources access for overseas campuses”

3.55 – 4.25 – Meghan Mazella and Sarah Brear – “Overseas students and your CLA Licence”

4.25 – 4.45 – Question and Answer session

4.45 – Close of course.

Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, the full fee will be charged.
