Constantly changing study behaviours means that Libraries may need to revise their boundaries and consider how they accommodate tweeting, eating, drinking and chatting to their friends. This workshop day will examine how Libraries react and manage these newly emerging behaviours in order to keep the library an appropriate place for learning without looking out of touch with the needs of our 21st century users?

During the morning, Ash Charlton from Ace Training will encourage us to better understand student behaviour, to see where students are coming from and appreciate the pressures that they are under. He will involve attendees in setting a potentially negative scene positively and in dealing with difficult situations if they do arise.

In the afternoon there will be three short presentations around the subject of managing student behaviour and the opportunity to share good practice.

Attendees will go away armed with ideas and techniques to use in their own libraries.
