cpd25 is pleased to offer an afternoon event on Thursday 16th June 2011 with a series of presentations on the different ways in which academic libraries organise their student enquiry services.

The event consists both of demonstrations of different enquiry technologies available and case studies from Universities on their own services and experience.

Programme:

1.00 – 1.30: Arrival and registration

1.30 – 1.35: Welcome and introduction

1.35 – 2.00: “Building a national shared out of hours helpline service: the development and operation of the NorMAN Out of Hours Helpline service for IT and library queries”, Debbie Figgis (Customer Service Manager, IT Services, Northumbria University)

2.00 – 2.30: “Case study: Student Enquiry services at Middlesex University Library’, Gill Stone (Customer Service Manager, Middlesex University Library)

2.30 – 2.45: Tea & Coffee

2.45 – 3.30: “Beyond the Desk: Adding Value and Creating Efficiencies with QuestionPoint”, Susan McGlamery (QuestionPoint senior product manager, OCLC) & Tristan Clayton (Enquiry Services Supervisor, King’s College) / Franko Kowalczuk (Knowledge Management Coordinator, King’s College)

3.30 – 3.55: “Using Numara Footprints for student enquires”, Gary Corcoran (Roehampton University)

3.55 – 4.00: Close.

Cost: £95 for cpd25 members and £125 for other institutions.

Cancellations less than one week before the event will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, the full fee will be charged.
