Speakers:
Martin Donnelly (Digital Curation Centre)
Research Data Management (RDM) is growing in significance in the Higher Education sector. New legislation and research funder requirements necessitate effective data management and sharing. Many universities have set up steering groups to develop a strategy for RDM and are in the process of developing support services. This talk will reflect on RDM initiatives in UK universities and the instrumental role that library services are playing in this change.
Stephen Grace (University of East London)
UEL has committed to develop a library-led support service to help its researchers manage their data. Stephen will detail current and future work to help staff and students meet external requirements, manage and share their data, through training, advice, and the development of a data repository.
Gareth Knight (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine)
Gareth will be providing a case study on work being performed by the RDM Support Service to improve data management practice among health researchers at LSHTM.
