Roving Visit to Roehampton [Event Ref. No. TG5V/ROV]

When

11/09/2012
4:30 am

Event Type

Roving has been adopted by an increasing number of academic libraries in the UK. It has been used by libraries as providing help and assistance at the point of use for the user. It also aims to support the hidden user or customer who may be reluctant to approach a helpdesk. By ‘walking the floor’ the librarian or rover is not tied to one static desk and can help users in a variety of settings.
At Roehampton University roving has been in place since 2008. On this visit they will explain who roves, when they rove, how they are identified and the use of technology by rovers. This visit is useful for those either considering introducing roving or making changes to their current service.
See http://www.roehampton.ac.uk/Contact-Us/ for more information about how to get there. Parking can be provided.
