This event will look at how libraries have adapted to readers with mobile devices and their expectations when engaging with us –  reading books and articles, finding out about services.

1.30:  Registration with tea & coffee

1.45:  Welcome & Introduction

1.55:   Claire Koch, University of Surrey Library

“Mobile Access – what do libraries want”?

Claire reflects on the University of Surrey Mobile Project, aiming to improve access to resources and information from any device, anywhere.

This will be a modified presentation first given to Jisc Collections Mobile Resource Issues: Publisher workshop. earlier this year.

2.25:  Ellie Murphy, University of Westminster Library

Ellie spoke on her use of blogs at an event 3 years ago. Since then most of the liaison librarians have put blogs on the back-burner but Ellie has developed her Business blog into more of a subject resource and will tell us the reasons behind these decisions and how it’s going.

2.55:  Tea Break

3.15:  Emily Stannard, Reading University

Adding an image to your blog post is worth the effort but it is highly likely that you will be (and maybe already are!) using images that you yourself did not create. Emily, Copyright Officer, will share good practice to ensure that you keep within the law.

3.45:  Ian Clark, University of East London

Dedicated social media user, Ian Clark is now using Flipboard and Pinterest to develop web pages in his new role as Psychology Subject Librarian.

4.15 Summing up and close.
