Visit – Brighton Jubilee and University of Sussex

Visits to the Brighton & Hove Jubilee Library and the University of Sussex Special Collections[/B]

cpd25 is delighted to offer an opportunity to see two of East Sussex most renowned Library facilities. The morning will include a guided tour around the Jubilee Library in Brighton. Then over to Falmer for a sandwich lunch in the University of Sussex Library followed by a tour of the superb special collections. These include, amongst many wonderful items relating 20th century literary & social history, the papers of Virginia & Leonard Woolf papers and other Bloomsbury related collections, the Rudyard Kipling Papers on deposit from the National Trust and the Mass Observation Archive which was recently awarded designated status by the MLA and celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. http://www.sussex.ac.uk/library/speccoll/

Attendees are invited to specify, when registering, if there are any specific items or collections in the University of Sussex Special Collections that they would like to see.

The visits are free to attend, and include a sandwich lunch. Travel costs are NOT included.

We will begin at the Jubilee library at 10.30, and finish at University of Sussex 16.00. Dave Puplett, cpd25, will lead the group between the two libraries, and will also be travelling to and from London on the day.
