Visit to Marylebone Cricket Club Library [Event Ref. No. TG4V/MCCL]
Situated next to the Pavilion of the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground, the MCC Library contains the world’s largest and most comprehensive collection of books and publications dedicated to cricket. Spanning over 11,000 volumes from the latest books and magazines to rare editions and pamphlets from the game’s earliest days, the Library is an invaluable resource for authors, researchers and journalists.
The tour will take visitors behind the scenes of this remarkable institution, and includes access to the MCC Archive which houses the Club’s own records as well as the Library’s rare books collection. The visit will also take in the MCC Museum currently showcasing many of the highlights of cricket literature, as well as perennial favourites such as the Ashes urn. Lastly, the tour will conclude in the ground’s famous Pavilion, where tea and coffee will be served.
