Visit to the Maughan Library, King’s College London

We are pleased to offer a pre-Networking Event visit to the Maughan Library, King’s College London.

The Maughan Library has taken advantage of the magnificent architecture and unusual features of the former Public Record Office building. Designed by Sir James Pennethorne, a former pupil of John Nash, and Sir John Taylor, it was constructed between 1851 and 1898. It once housed the nation’s public records, including the Domesday Book and Magna Carta within an environment designed to be almost entirely fireproof.

The tour will highlight both the historical features of the building and some of the library’s modern technology and community- focused spaces. Visitors will also have the opportunity to view a selection of rare and unique items from the Special Collections.
