The Aga Khan Library holds a scholarly research collection of more than 54,000 modern print titles and more than 5,000 rare books with a primary focus on Islam and Muslim societies. We also house archives, photographs, maps and artworks produced all over the Muslim world over a period of more than five centuries. In addition, the Ismaili Special Collections Unit is home to around 3000 rare and distinctive manuscripts in a variety of languages including Arabic, Persian and Indic languages. The collections at the Aga Khan Library and the Ismaili Special Collections Unit support research and teaching activities at The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) and The Aga Khan University’s Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations (AKU-ISMC).

The visit will include:

– A tour of the Aga Khan Centre (including gardens)

– Aga Khan Centre Gallery (Quran exhibition)

– Aga Khan Library tour & Ismaili Special Collections’ display

– Tea & Coffee, networking
