The George Padmore Institute is an archive, educational resource and research centre housing materials relating to the black community of Caribbean, African and Asian descent in Britain and continental Europe.

Founded in 1991, they are based in North London where they often hold educational and cultural activities including talks and readings. They also publish relevant materials and are making their archives accessible to the general public.

Please not that disabled access is very limited and rooms can only be reached via a fairly steep staircase.

Bookings for visits are open to members of the M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries only.

To reserve a space on the waiting list please use our online booking form. (As visits are free to attend, a PO number is not required – please enter ‘n/a’ in the purchase order field on the booking form).

If subsequent to booking a place on a cpd25 visit you find that you are unable to attend, we ask that you let us know this as soon as possible.

Cancellations received less than three working days before the event will be charged a £15 cancellation fee. In the event of a ‘no-show’ on the day, £25 will be charged.

Please note that advance booking is required, you may be turned away on the day if you do not reserve your place in advance.
